Interview with Deanna of The Halo Friendlies

from Au Zine

AU: How long have the halo friendlies been a band?

Deanna: about 3 years. we didn't start playing out until a little over 2 years ago.

AU: Where are all of you from?

Deanna: we're all from so. cal. Long beach, Huntington beach area.

AU: Have you ever been ridiculed or something for being an all girl band?

Deanna: no. we havent been ridiculed, but we have had alot of preconceived ideas that we suck, just because we're girls.

AU: When do you plan on starting the recording for the new cd?

Deanna: hopefully with in the next few months.

AU: How long has the halos been a band before they first got signed?

Deanna: we were kind of just always signed. matt at jackson rubio said if we started a band, he would put out our albums.

AU: What are your musical influences?

Deanna: hmmm this is always a tough one..i listen to a lot of different stuff. like that dog, the pixies, rocket from the crypt, the cure, ac/dc, murdercitydevils, the runaways... i cant really say if any of them specifically have influenced me, but i guess subconsiously they all do. my philosophy on drumming has always been 'less is more'

AU: Are there any zines that any of you read?

Deanna: i dont read any regularly, basically i'll read any zine that ends up in front of me.

AU: Ok. thanx for letting me interview you. Keep it real. c-ya
